Choose a country

Read the whole clue. Most questions have several correct countries, and you only need to choose one. Click or tap the country on the map, check its name, then press Drop pin. Drag to move the map and use the zoom controls to reach small countries. Selecting a country does not submit it.

Play with a keyboard

Focus the map with Tab. Arrow keys move the map; + and − zoom. Enter or Space selects the country at the center crosshair. Then move to Drop pin to submit. The full-screen control provides a larger map.

Watch the clock

A daily edition has five questions, with 60 seconds for each. The clock keeps running if you leave the page or refresh. When time runs out, the selected country is submitted; no selection earns zero. Read the feedback and use Next to continue. Finish before 00:00 UTC, when the daily page switches to the next date.

Understand the score

A correct answer earns 40, 55, 70, 85 or 100 km. A wrong or empty answer earns zero. Five top-tier answers make 500 km.

These are preset rewards based on population rank within each question’s answer set. Smaller populations tend to earn higher rewards. They are not measured player popularity or a live survey. A correct answer can therefore earn less than another correct answer.

Read the clue boundaries

Name questions use the game’s fixed English country names, including when the interface is in Spanish. Clue details explains how letters and words are counted. Fact questions identify the membership, date or geographic classification they use. The game defines 197 selectable country entries; dependencies generally map to their parent entry.

One date, one edition

Editions use UTC dates. Everyone playing the same published date receives the same five questions. In Singapore the date changes at 08:00. The current release has 308 scheduled editions, from 20 October 2026 to 23 August 2027, containing 1,540 daily questions. A date without a published edition shows a notice instead of recycling old questions.

Practice and review

Practice is one untimed question and can be repeated. It does not enter daily history. Complete a daily edition to review its accepted countries, reward tiers, explanations and sources. Past-edition pages reveal answers only after that UTC date has ended. These are Daily Farflung’s own questions, not answers to another site’s puzzle.

Keep your progress

No account is needed. Daily progress, history and your language choice stay in this browser. English and Spanish share one daily attempt. Clearing site data removes the saved game; progress does not sync to another browser or device.
